To keep up with our growth, we are seeking a Field Install and Quality Engineer who will support our companies product delivery to include the onsite install inspections, field install documentation creation, finished goods quality inspections, onsite field repairs, and 3rd party testing management.
* Up to 50% travel required (two days per week estimate)
Install and Quality Management:
- Develop install manuals for customers to utilize when installing our product at construction job sites.
- Provide expertise and answer questions when customers need assistance with installing finished goods.
- Conduct on-site post installation inspections to determine if they were completed as per our manual and if they are covered by the company warranty.
- Conduct on-site visits to fix and remediate quality issues in the field.
- Conduct Webex meetings with customers to review workmanship of installation and to provide instructions on remediation.
- Maintain records and documents related to warranty and potential warranty claims.
- Review internal and external design and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished goods prior to their shipment to job sites.
- Work with RPH Engineering Design team to improve product design and capability.
- Work with 3rd party testing facilities to ensure timely and successful testing of different product designs in accordance with industry standards.
- Generate test reports, quality control reports, and site visit reports for all work completed.
- General Technical Support:
- Support overall company needs related to new product development, marketing, product improvements, regulatory compliance, quality control, and product testing and certifications.
- Read architectural drawings showing installed product.
- Support marketing and business development initiatives with drawings and technical information.
- Assist in providing technical answers to customer inquiries.
Requirements:
- Able to read construction blueprints
- Experienced working in the field on construction sites making repairs or installing mechanical systems
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and equipment helpful
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects
- Roofing experience a plus
- Customer-first mentality
- Able to train and teach others to perform field work
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Engineering degree (Associates or Bachelors) or relevant work experience preferred
- SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency preferred
- Spanish language skills preferred
