Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Banking or Public Accounting, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including but not limited to accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and budgeting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and tax laws
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies and improve processes
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders
- Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely completion and accuracy of audit objectives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in banking, financial services, and/or Public Accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and tax regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Prior experience in training and mentoring junior accounting staff is a plus
